Case Study
A recycle paper mill producing tissue was experiencing increased downtime due to deposits in the fiber refining and deinking systems. The mill was trying unsuccessfully to treat the calcium, but had no means to monitor the levels of treatment. The only method to insure the dispersant levels were to adequate was to wait until equipment fouled and then increase the treatment. Rochester Midland introduced CD-900, a state-of-the-art calcium dispersant. CD- 900 has a traceable polymer, which allows the mill to test for treatment levels while still running. The CD-900 has enabled the mill to maintain correct levels of dispersant which has cut downtime on the paper machines dramatically. The net increase of paper produced is 10%.
